An evil man is held captive by his own sins;Â they are ropes that catch and hold him. He will die for lack of self-control; he will be lost because of his great foolishness (Proverbs 5:22-23 NKJV).

Sin is a beautiful and desirable trap. Self-control is needed to escape the trap.
An attractive married man walks into the office and asks for your number. You are not thinking of his wife. You are thinking how good you would feel in his arms.
You have two choices:
Lack of self-control: You give your phone number and start to build a relationship with the man. You fall in love with someone you can never have. Your dignity and self-worth dies. The shame of breaking a family gnaws at you. You lost who you are. Later, you find out that you are one of two mistresses.
Self-control: You say "no." You maintain your dignity. You honor God. You respect the sanctity of marriage. You protect your life.
