Who Am I?

If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it. Matthew 10:39 NLT

Are you trying to find yourself?

Who are you?

What do you stand for?

If you really want to find yourself, then stop thinking about yourself. Think about Jesus, our creator. When our thinking shifts to Jesus, we will find Him. But, we will also find ourselves. If you want to know the identity or function of a product, then you seek the manufacturer. Jesus is our manufacturer and His instruction manual is the Bible.

If you cling to your life (selfish tendencies, ambition, jealousy, worldly desires), then you will lose it. You will be lost in the crowd of noise.

If you give up your life (loving God's people when it is hard, forgiving, patience, gentleness, doing good when its not fair, giving your time to volunteer, choosing to help a coworker rather than climb the corporate ladder), then you will find it. You will find that you were created to be a light of love, righteousness, and justice.

Dear God, thank you for your truth. Help us to turn away from ourselves and towards you. The world is filled with pressure and loud noise. Help us to listen to your calm, gentle whisper. Thank you Father for being our Lord and Savior. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
