Are you Waiting for a Sign?

But Moses protested to God, “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?” God answered, “I will be with you. And this is your sign that I am the one who has sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God at this very mountain.” Exodus 3:11-12 NLT

God told Moses to lead a group of people out of Israel. Moses wasn't sure if he was hearing God correctly. Me? You want me? I'm a nobody. Why would you choose me? Can you relate? Have you ever felt like God was speaking to you? Then, you begin to doubt it. Did God really say that? So, Moses asked for a sign. God agreed to gives Moses a sign.

The sign came after the obedience. The sign came after Moses took action.

Do you feel like God is speaking to you about a particular area in your life? How can you really be sure it is God? Check the Bible (google the topic. Write down the Bible verses and then read them for yourself).

Does it align with the Bible? For instance, do you need a sign whether you should donate money to a local organization? There are multiple Bible verses that state it is good to give to the needy. Do you need a sign whether you should date a married person? The Bible states that God values marriage. It is very unlikely that you would hear God telling you to commit adultery. God's Word will not contradict God's Word whether He is speaking directly to you or through the Bible.
