For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Beware!
It is easy to look at these verses and see these qualities in others. But what about you? Are you arrogant, ungrateful, disobedient, unloving, unforgiving? Are you gossiping and slandering others?
Dear God, we thank you for your Word and how you use it to correct us. Forgive us for our sins and our actions that are contrary to what you have taught in your Word. Please fill us with your Holy Spirit, so we can exude the Fruits of your Spirit. Thank you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
