But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
1 John 1:9 NLT
The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.
Lamentations 3:22-23 NLT
God is an honest judge. He is angry with the wicked every day. If a person does not repent, God will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow. He will prepare his deadly weapons and shoot his flaming arrows.
Psalm 7:11-13 NLT
And to the man he said, “Since you listened to your wife and ate from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat, the ground is cursed because of you. All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it.
Genesis 3:17 NLT
God will always forgive and cleanse us of our sins. His mercies are new everyday. This raises the question “If God will always forgive me, then can I just sin and ask for forgiveness after?”
Yes, you can sin.
Yes, God will forgive you.
But beware! There are consequences for our choices.
God loved Adam and Eve. They made a choice to disobey God. As a result, they were not allowed to live in the Garden of Eden anymore. Their life became extremely hard. Sin causes destruction in our life. God forgave them and was merciful, but there were consequences.
Dear God, thank you for being merciful and loving us. Help us to identify and turn away from our sins. We invite you into our life and we ask for your help. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
