Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands. Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed. They themselves will be wealthy, and their good deeds will last forever. Psalm 112:1-3 NLT
APPLICATION
Every choice has a consequence.
Generally, consequences fall into four categories:
Category 1: Good and immediate consequence
Example-Sally went to the gym on Monday and her energy levels were high for the rest of the day.
Category 2: Good and delayed consequence
Example- After two years of Sally going to the gym everyday, she lost 10 pounds.
Category 3: Bad and immediate consequence
Example: Lisa was in a hurry and drove past a stop sign which caused a multi-car accident.
Category 4: Bad and delayed consequence
Example: Six months after the accident, Lisa's car insurance payment was increased by 20% and she found out she was being sued by the other parties in the collision.
Making the choice to have a relationship with God is not easy. And, you may not feel or see the change immediately, but have faith in your choice. Your choice is making a difference not only in your life, but the life of your children and their children. Your choice to follow Jesus will break generational curses.
PRAYER
Dear God, thank you for your Word and showing us that in the same way that Adam and Eve’s choice made an impact in our lives, so will our choice to serve you. Help us to choose wisely what we think about and our actions. We invite you in our lives and our decisions. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
