Incline your Ear to Wisdom

1My son, if you receive my words,

And treasure my commands within you,

So that you incline your ear to wisdom,

And apply your heart to understanding;

Yes, if you cry out for discernment,

And lift up your voice for understanding,

If you seek her as silver,

And search for her as for hidden treasures;

Then you will understand the fear of the Lord,

And find the knowledge of God (Proverbs 2: 1-5 NKJV)

It is possible to hear someone speaking, but not listen to one word.

It is possible to read something and have no comprehension.

It is possible to see, but have no vision.

Our relationship with God must be active. We must incline (take an active approach) to learn and listen to God's wisdom. God's wisdom comes from reading His Word and treasuring His commandments.

Fear (reverence or high honor) of the Lord begins with taking an active approach to receiving God's Word.

What are some active steps that you can take this week?
