Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5 NKJV)

God's ways are higher than ours. He is a supernatural God in a natural world. Our minds see and comprehend the natural and the possible.
God can work in realistic and unrealistic ways to accomplish His purpose. We see this in the life of Elijah. In 1 Kings 17:7-16, God uses a widow to feed Elijah. This miracle is easy for our minds to understand. It is mostly realistic and practical. You could knock on your neighbor's door and ask for bread.
In contrast, Elijah was supplied with food by a bird in 1 Kings 17:2-6.
God was able to supply food to Elijah through a human being and a bird. Hence, lean not onto your own understanding. If Elijah relied on his own understanding, then he may have answered God, "that is impossible. There is no way a bird is going to remember to bring me food each day." Instead, Elijah obeyed God and trusted God.
Trust in God even when it doesn't make sense to you. God has never failed you. He will never fail you.
Our own understanding is limited. God's power is unlimited.
