13 Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. 2 So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. 3 For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you. Romans 13:1-3 NLT
APPLICATION
All authority comes from God. God is in control of every detail in our life. He puts people into power such as presidents, doctors, and police officers. We must submit to their authority. But what if they are abusing their authority? We must still submit to their authority. God establishes authority. Rebellion against teachers, presidents, or laws is a rebellion against God. God is righteous and fair.
If you feel that someone is misusing the authority that God gave them, then pray. Ask God to show you how to address this situation with a supervisor. Our leaders also have leaders. And, their leaders have leaders. All leaders or people in positions of power must answer to God.
PRAYER
Dear Father, thank you for another day. I ask that you bless us with your favor and endless mercy, so that we can learn and follow your way. Show us where we are rebelling against you and help us repent. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
